Final Fantasy The Spirits Within, had been one of the creative animated science fiction movies ever to hit the big screen; using of revolutionary technology, to achieve maximum composed special effects made the overall experience elating. I presume this movie laid the way for the future animation using CGI.
The story takes us to the time of 2065 A.D., where the earth is infested by alien spirits know as phantoms, which seems to take the soul of the humans once it establishes bodily contact, thus plunging the earth’s life form to extermination. We get introduced to our leading role scientist 'Aki Ross' who led by a strange dream, tries to gather eight spirits in order to craft a force potent enough to save the planet.
I don’t know why this movie is so under rated here. The story was likeable and it didn’t look as being dragged to fill the time. In spite of this movie being a science fiction this still had some spiritual message which I guess might have been too much for broad spectrum viewers. The romance between Aki & Captain Gray was well crafted and never out did any thing to make it cheesy. I would surly recommend any one to give this a try before making any judgment.
Considering the time when this movie came out I give hands up for its visual effects its really impressive. Even the title track was really alluring. I would certainly suggest seeing this and even recommend adding this to collection.
